Lotus in the Pines yoga classes are designed to optimize overall health and well-being by facilitating healing, reducing stress and bringing balance to the mind and body. Each class includes several different components which work together to maximize effectiveness. Some of these elements are body awareness, breathing, stretching and movement, meditation and deep relaxation. Eclectic style yoga with Dynamic Yoga influences describes Lotus in the Pines yoga classes. Through the body awareness exercises, areas of tension and tightness in the body will be realized. The breathing exercises can increase lung capacity and the student will learn how smooth, steady breathing helps to reduce stress and create a calmer and more focused mind. Through the stretching and movement exercises, the student will learn to release and relax areas of tension that tend to accumulate in certain areas of the body. Stretching will also tone and strengthen every major joint and muscle in the body. Meditation is a place of stillness, balance and connection with the deepest part of ourselves. Students are invited to find their place of stillness throughout class. Deep relaxation allows the student to soak in all the benefits that were experienced during class.
